For the last two years, we have stayed at a farm stay in the Gingkin area of NSW. I have been so taken by the beauty of the stars there, I recently asked if I could take a shot of the early winter starscape. It’s the kind of place where major constellations are drowned out by all the other bright stars. Can you pick out Scorpious the scorpion? This is a link to the farm’s website. http://www.stayz.com.au/accommodation/nsw/blue-mountains/jenolan-caves/23675
Up in the highland country west of Sydney are the Jenolan Caves. The kind of place you cannot answer a mobile phone and the road out there is even more isolated. At night it’s cold and dark. Perfect for beautiful southern stars.
This shot was taken on a farm near the very small rural town of Gingkin in New South Wales. I love the way the stars come right down to the ground and you can see the telegraph pole way in the distance. It is a first attempt at stars so a bit of Photoshopping was needed.
